While we await whatsapp video calling feature. Am happy to announce that Google had unveiled video calling app called “Duo”, Google annouced the availabily of Duo video calling app on their blog yesterday. While we’ve awaited the release of this app, i can proudly tell you to… dash straight to playstore or apple store to get this app installed right away, sadly not all countries can download it yet.

Popularly described as Google’s take on Apple’s FaceTime, Duo is a video chatting app that “takes the complexity out of video calling.” Some of its selling points are its simple interface, end-to-end encryption, and the fact that it works seamlessly even with poor network connections. There’s also a Knock Knock feature that lets users know who’s calling before they answer a call – something FaceTime doesn’t have.

Duo uses phone numbers and it’s available for Android and iOS devices. It hasn’t been rolled out to all countries, though, so you might have to wait a few days to get it.

Now that we’ve seen the release of Google’s Duo video calling app, what is WhatsApp waiting for?
