Along with improving the quality of content, especially cameras that are now capable of recording 4K video and high-resolution photos, the need for storage media in the gadget has increased.
In response to this trend, Sandisk and Micron introduced the largest capacity microSD memory card. The storage space provided by this product, full name SanDisk UHS-I microSDXC, reaches 1TB.
SanDisk reports, their microSD card will have a maximum reading speed of 160MB/s, while Micron only reaches 100MB /s. As for the speed of writing, Micron claims the card can run at numbers up to 95MB/s, while for SanDisk only 90MB/s.
About the price, SanDisk will release the microSD card for US $449 (approx. N162,000 naira) and will go on sale in April, although we have no idea when it’d be available in Nigeria.
Micron has not confirmed the price for the microSDXC UHS-I card but said that the card will come out in the second half of this year, according to Ubergizmo.
