The ‘Andromeda’ project has been widely discussed since last year, but information about the project is still minimal.
Now, email leaks along with the new application programming interface (API) found in the latest preview of Windows 10 provide little information.
According to GSM Arena, Andromeda Surface Phone is not just a ‘phone’. This device will be a ‘pocket device’ following the steps of the Surface laptop line with flexible hinges. This device is in a class of its own given its unique shape.
The API allows the application to customize its interface and function depending on the position of the hinge. The code reads: closed, concave, convex, flat and full. And, hopefully, the device also comes with the support of a stylus like other Surface devices.
However, unlike its larger ‘sibling’, the hinges can move 360 degrees allowing for improved functionality when fully open or completely closed.
Based on previously patented archiving and Microsoft email leaks, Twitter users have uploaded some of the estimated photos of Surface Phone appearances.
