Many social media companies are now preparing to present a competing app Clubhouse. After Twitter with Spaces, Discord with Stage Channels, Facebook has now emerged with its own audio chat application called Hotline.
It is known that the application is in a trial phase, Hotline will be designed for people who want to have conversations with the public or present questions to other people.
The Hotline itself was developed by an internal team from the Facebook Research & Development Group, the NPE Team. Now, Hotline has entered the beta testing stage where the application interface is also being shown.
However, what is different from Hotline is that users will not only be limited to having audio-only conversations, Hotline will also provide conversation support with text and videos that appear in the profile photo area.
Without a doubt, the presence of Hotline will be a big threat to the Clubhouse. Because Facebook is known to be a social media giant where whatever they launch is sure to be used by many people.
Moreover, Twitter Spaces, which was launched this April, also attracted the attention of many people. This makes Clubhouse have to rush to bring new things to its services, one of which is its presence on Android.
