Apple is reportedly developing a line of iPhones with foldable screen capabilities, such as Samsung, Motorola or Huawei folding phones.
The news was conveyed by technology analyst and creator of FrontPageTech, Jon Prosser, who said that Apple’s first folding screen iPhone will launch as early as 2023.
As reported by Gizchina, this iPhone series will come with the ability to fold in, like the flip design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Prosser also said that Apple is currently considering several technology options related to the folding screen capability of smartphones.
Apple is believed to be releasing its first foldable screen iPhone with special glass technology and is able to survive even after being folded many times.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is also looking for ways to make a screen that can be folded, with hinges that are largely invisible. When opened, this folding screen is the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
But until recently, Apple hasn’t publicly shown any interest in making a foldable iPhone.
The company which is led by Tim Cook is known to rarely show interest in a new product category, at least until its presence is almost certain.
