It’s that time of the year when Lenovo releases new smartphones into the phone market for user consumption. Of a couple of smartphones released by the brand, Lenovo S5 Pro is the beast that carries most of the spotlight.
Last two years, the trend in the smartphone world was the dual rear cameras. Last year, the bezel-less design took over the scene. This year, the notch design is running riot! The whole reason for the brief intro you just saw is that Lenovo S5 Pro also features a notch design. Additionally, the smartphone is the advanced version of the previously released Lenovo S5.
Lenovo S5 Pro Quick Review
In the previous paragraph, I expressed the view about the dual rear camera being the trendy stuff in 2016. Its trend hasn’t stopped because up till now, OEMs still try as much as possible to implement it. Deducing from that, the Lenovo S5 Pro also presents a dual camera setup at its rear. And not just that, it also features dual cameras at its front.
The dual cameras available at the front are the 20MP primary shooter and 8MP depth camera. The selfie camera gives room for HDR and video recording at the pace of 1080p@30fps. Interestingly, the phone can be unlocked using a facial scan due to Infrared facial recognition at the notch.
Its backside, on the other hand, is more power-packed as the cameras possess 12MP main and 20MP secondary lenses. The cameras are supported with dual-tone dual LED flash, 2x optical zoom, Panorama and HDR too.
Camera talk aside, the smartphone’s 83% screen-to-body ratio is enabled thanks to the cool notch that’s positioned at the top of the device. Added to this, an 18.7:9 aspect ratio allows the phone’s 6.2 inches IPS LCD to deliver full-screen estate.
What determines the entire magic on this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. This chipset works on the 14nm process technology and is supported by an octa-core 1.8GHz Kryo CPU.
