Weng’s case isn’t the first Galaxy S7 edge to go up in flames. A man named Daniel Ramirez who sustained second- and third-degree burns after a Galaxy S7 edge exploded in his shirt pocket sued Samsung in New Jersey earlier this month.

According to sources, the victim only heard his phone whistling and screeching before it was engulfed in flames. His right hand was injured while he tried to fish out the device unsuccessfully. The phone eventually exploded in his pocket, searing his legs and groin in the process.
