Sony officially launched the PlayStation 5 game console, on Thursday (11/06/2020). This presentation was shown virtually through the pre-recorded video.

PlayStation 5 Features
Carrying a vertical design with white dominating the exterior of the PlayStation 5 reminiscent of the Xbox Series X and will be available in two versions of 4K Blu-ray and Digital Edition, the version without an optical drive will be slimmer than the regular model.
Digital Edition is expected to be sold cheaper, however, Sony has not announced the selling price of this console, quoted from TheVerge page, Friday.
Even though it was designed in a vertical form, the PS5 can also be placed horizontally under a monitor or television. The top of the PS5 has a window to release heat, while the USB-A and USB-C ports are on the front.
In addition to presenting a console design, Sony also introduced a game that will be available on the PS5. Resident Evil VIII, Gran Turismo 7, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales became the game title that received the most rousing and much talked about.

For the computational performance, PS5 has the ability to process graphics of 10.28 teraflops (TF) or about six times the ability of PS4. With that much capability, PS5 can play games with resolutions up to 8K or 16 times greater than full HD resolution (1,080 x 1,920 pixels).
One of the most prominent features of the PS5 is the superfast game loading. This is made possible by a system that is able to access SSD memory (solid-state drive) at a speed of 5.5GB per second. Keep in mind, one DVD only has a capacity of 4.7GB. This means that this is a very important feature.
Sony also promises PS5 will be able to be used to play PS4 games.
“With so many exciting games on PS4, we have mobilized to ensure that our fans can play more than 4,000 PS4 games on PS5,” said Hideaki Nishino., SIE’s Senior Vice President of Planning and Management Platform.

PlayStation 5 Price and Availability
The PlayStation 5 game console itself will only be on sale this holiday season. While there is no official announcement of the price yet, it’s rumoured to be sold starting US $499 (approx. N195,000 naira in Nigeria).
