WhatsApp continues to present new features to provide support to its users. Though just recently, WhatsApp announced that they will stop supporting a number of smartphones that were considered ‘old’ and could no longer run the new feature.
Whatsapp has recently announced that it will stop support for several smartphones with certain operating systems, both Android and iOS, starting on November 1st.
It is stated that the device in question is a smartphone with the operating system Android 4.0.3 and below or iOS 9 and below.
If users don’t upgrade their smartphones before November 1st, then they will no longer be able to use WhatsApp on that device.
As an example, smartphones that run with the Android 4.0.3 operating system and below include the Samsung Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Ace 2, LG Optimus F3, to Sony Xperia Arc S.
Meanwhile, for iOS, devices that refused to update the latest iOS version such as the iPhone SE, iPhone 6, to iPhone 6S Plus will no longer support WhatsApp.
Therefore, users are advised to check whether there is a software update provided by each vendor to enable their devices to run the latest WhatsApp version.
