Xiaomi Black Shark is Xiaomi’s first gaming smartphone. The smartphone was concocted by Xiaomi and its investment-backed company called Black Shark technology. Xiaomi Black Shark has the orientation of a rugged smartphone in its design. At its rear, the smartphone shines with a dual camera setup, and the letter S sits conspicuously at the centre. For both its Black and Grey colour variants, the device is blended with a touch of green at core areas like the edges and around the buttons.
This device weighs 192g with a thickness of 9.2mm. The IPS LCD screen sized at 5.99 inches, has an excellent resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and pixel density of 403PPI. Full View display of 18:9 aspect ratio is supported on the device. In the attitude of gaming, the colour quality of the smartphone gets all blissful thanks to 97% DCI-P3 coverage.
Moving on, Xiaomi doesn’t break hearts when it comes to the camera category, and the Xiaomi Black Shark is nothing short of that expectation. The rear’s dual camera setup comprises of a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP secondary sensor; both with f/1.8 aperture. A dual tone dual-LED flash provides the best condition for brightness in low light areas. The front camera, which lacks a flash uses a 20MP sensor to snap selfies.
Android Oreo OS serves as the operating system of the device. In its powerhouse, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC is aboard. This chipset has eight cores which can speed up to 2.8GHz. For the graphics, Adreno 630 GPU takes the centre stage.
Interesting enough, the smartphone has a juicy battery life of 4,000mAh to make it last long periods on gaming and other activities. Other than the fact that it’s a non-removable Li-Ion battery, the device charges at maximum speed due to Quick Charge technology present.
The storage unit of the smartphone boasts of 64GB internal memory and a larger variant of 128GB, however, no MicroSD slot was allocated. Sleekness in multitasking is also given by the 6GB RAM which also has a larger version that’s 8GB.
