The Redmi 5 is a great looking phone. It comes with a 5.7inch, 18:9 aspect ratio screen with a resolution of 1440 x 720px. An IPS LCD screen which can produce over 15 million unsaturated colours was used. The fingerprint scanner is well placed at the back along with the Xiaomi branding.
The Redmi 5 is wrapped in an aluminium body which holds in the 3300mAh battery. The power and volume button can be found at the right side of the phone. The almost bezeless display gives the phone a sleek look with on-screen navigation used.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The 2GB model comes with 16GB of storage space while the 3GB model has 32GB. The Redmi 5 is equipped a 12-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The software is based on Android 7.1.2 with a MIUI 9 underlay. The phone uses a Hybrid dual-SIM slot and supports 4G on both sims. You also get Bluetooth 4.2, USB-OTG and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
