Foldable Screen Smartphones Will Still Be Difficult To Sell

Although vendors are competing to introduce folding screen smartphones in the near future, it is predicted that this model will still be difficult to sell in the next few years.

In fact, Gartner’s research institute said that in the year 2023, folding screen smartphones are expected to only reap a 5 percent share for the smartphone market globally.

According to Gartner, this is due to the large amount of money that must be spent by vendors to produce a folding screen smartphone.

The research institute based in Stamford, Connecticut, USA estimates that in the coming 2023, there will only be around 30 million units of folding screen smartphones that will be sold on the global market.

“In the next five years, we estimate smartphones with folding screens will remain a favourite product due to several manufacturing challenges,” said Roberta Cozza, Gartner’s Research Director, as reported by Phone Arena.

“In addition to the screen surface, the price is also a barrier even though we expect it to decrease over time,” he added.
