Apple seems very serious about protecting user data from being stolen by other people, including application developers on its operating system. So from that, they began to tighten the rules for iOS application developers.
It is stated that Apple has announced new conditions that must be obeyed by developers when they want to retrieve information on user data, making developers more transparent and giving users choices regarding the decisions they want to make.
This information was first reported by an analyst named Eric Seufert. Where at this time Apple began to reject application updates that use SDK from third parties with the aim of collecting user data without permission.
The data taken include, among other things, device model, IP address, and also other information. This data collection method is known as Device Fingerprinting.
“Per a number of developers, Apple has begun rejecting apps updates that include the Adjust SDK related to its collection of data used for device fingerprinting,” wrote Eric Seufert on his Twitter.
Since Apple released the latest iOS 14 operating system update, Apple has focused more on providing protection related to user privacy, one of which is notifying if there are applications that use cameras and microphones without the user’s knowledge.
