We’ve all been busy changing our old SIM cards to the MTN, 9Mobile, Ntel and other 4G providers is up in some locations, and a new SMILE 4G LTE Sim was unveiled last week. The excitement is on a high and everyone is gradually switching to a faster broadband. But wait, what’s up with Airtel 4G LTE service in Nigeria?
Airtel 4G LTE Service In Nigeria
I can’t believe Airtel is yet to join the trend of 4G LTE service in Nigeria been that, they’re among the leading mobile network in Nigeria. The question now is, why haven’t they introduced their 4G LTE service?
Today, I was so curious to know what they had in mind for us, so I had to DM Airtel support team via Twitter on possible commencement of their 4G service in Nigeria, the response I got was precise, short and with a little benefit of doubt.
According to the response, i deduced that… sooner or later, Airtel 4G LTE service will be up and live for every Nigerian.
So far, so good…
The downside of the so-called 4G LTE service is…“phone’s band”, your mobile phone must be compatible with the exact network’s band to use their 4G LTE service. As a matter of fact, no Infinix phone is compatible with Glo 4G LTE with band 28 (700), also, some TECNO & Innjoo device can’t use GLO 4G.
Why am I saying this?
If Airtel is going make the wait worth it and win majority of Nigeria mobile phone users (TECNO, Infinix, Innjoo & the likes), I think they should offer a 4G LTE service that will support band 1, 3, 5 & 7.
Do you think Airtel 4G LTE service should support TECNO, Infinix & other related brands or you just don’t care, 4G is 4G? Let get your opinions on this matter, use the comment box below to share your views. Thanks
