The biggest phone show (Mobile World Congress) is upon us, and we will be having an intense week of smartphone launches here and there. One of the cheapest smartphones to be unveiled at the Barcelona show is the Alcatel 1s.
TCL Communications announced a couple of smartphones at the event, but this Alcatel 1s is one that the budget lovers will love to know about.

Alcatel 1s Quick Review
Blue, Black, Rose and Gold are the colour options the Alcatel 1s got unveiled in. The smartphone is slim and sleek thanks to its 8.6mm thickness and 146g weight. Also, the aluminium alloy and metal frame engulfing its internals make it beautiful. TCL Communications showered the smartphone with blessings of dual cameras and fingerprint scanner at the rear axis.
What delivers the display on the phone is an average 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen. Using the term “average” to qualify the screen size shows how much the smartphone world has evolved. At a time, it was considered huge. Times change though. A resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels determines the sharpness of this display.
Under the IPS glass, the chipset in place is the Spreadtrum SC9863A. It carries out its functions with support from a 3GB RAM; that’s multitasking settled. Not to forget, the chip sports an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU running at 1.6GHz. The latest Android OS (Android 9.0 Pie OS) gets on board.
I’m sure you know how loving bokeh images are? You, the centre of attention having all the focus while the surroundings get blurred out. That can be actualised with the dual 13MP + 2MP shooters on this device. Up front, selfies are taken with the solo 5MP shooter.
To store files, the phone bags 32GB ROM that’s expandable to 128GB using a MicroSD card. Modest battery life is guaranteed through the 3,060mAh battery. Sadly, there’s no Fast Charge feature available.
