And some of us have rooted our Android devices for ROM-changing purposes. But days have passed and most internet tweaks don’t work and developers barely make Roms for Android, and that has seen the rate at which Android rooting has reduced drastically.

But in this new decade, people still root and while some devices are not available to be rooted, I can tell you there are some Android devices you can root, and in this article, I’ll be listing out the best Android devices you can root and do some Rom tweaking on it.

List of the Best Android Phones to Root and Mod

These phones are quite popular due to their maker, but when it comes to trying out new mods and using ROMs, you can use these phones for a change in ROM, tweaks and also unlocking their full capabilities.

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

best android phones to root

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a beast device and one of a kind and that really makes it a good device to try out rooting options and mods. One reason why you’d want to have this device rooted is because of DSUs and that can only happen on Android 10.

Once you root Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and unlock the bootloader, you can temporarily load and boot a GSI. It’s an easy way to test out Android 11 without having to deal with clearing data or reinstalling the firmware. You can easily do this on Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. There are a lot of features you’d get when you root this device and that makes it one of the few Android devices you try out for rooting and modding.

2. Google Pixel 4a

Google Pixel 4

If you’re using a Google Pixel device, or let’s just say a Google Pixel 4a device, you’ll realize there are some stuff it lacks in terms of features, although it has cool features because it runs on Android 11, I can tell you this device is one of the best to mod and enhance its features like never before.

Rooting Google Pixel 4a will enable you to unlock the bootloader easily, you’ll be able to install apps and games on Memory Card, you’ll be able to install any custom Rom and as well be able to enable system modifications. Google Pixel 4a is one of the best Android devices to try out mods this year.

3. OnePlus 7T

With Roms like Lineage OS and Havoc OS bringing the best out of OnePlus 7T, you’ll definitely want to experience or be a user to witness the full potential of OnePlus 7T device. Categorically speaking, it’s one of the hottest Android phones out there since it was unveiled.

A rooted OnePlus 7T is open to enjoying different kinds of mods especially the ability to run on different types of OS. This device is one of the best Android phones that brings the best out of Android due to its enhanced mod features.

4. POCO F2 Pro

Poco F2

If you’re using POCO F2 Pro and it’s not rooted, you’re definitely missing out on a lot of stuff and features you’d get from a rooted device. Let’s say you want to change Rom, MIUI is the official Rom for Xiaomi phones, but POCO F2 Pro can use different rooms actually and that makes it a device worth rooting.

A rooted POCO F2 Pro will be able to change the initial screen settings, It will allow you to uninstall any unwanted apps (e.g. those directly from the producer) a rooted POCO F2 Pro is also good for mobile app developers.

5. OnePlus 8

Oneplus 8

OnePlus 8 is another device you’d want to root and try out some cool mods on it. For me, I’ll say one OnePlus device is always the better device for rooting and modding purposes as they have what it takes to handle mods comfortably.

OnePlus 8 when it’s been rooted, has the aforementioned features of the devices I had listed ahead of it. It’s one of the best Android phones you should try rooting and modding on this year.

Conclusion

If you’ve bought any latest devices ranging from last year to this year, you can as well try rooting and modding only if you’re savvy though. But if you have one of these devices in your possession, then you can give it a try. Rooting and Modding still work and it’s even better.
