The itel A16 Is the Advanced Version of the itel A14

Earlier on, we saw the itel A14, a low-cost entry-level smartphone from the Chinese company, itel Mobile. A couple of modifications have been made to the itel A14, thus giving birth to the itel A16.

Areas such as power, display and cameras are where the significant changes occurred. Segments like the OS (Android Oreo Go edition) still makes it into this device. As a result of the few changes, the smartphone’s price is also higher than its younger sibling.

From the exteriors, the itel A16 looks like a low-end smartphone that is. Plastic encapsulation, non-thin bezels and bulky. In other words, you’ll know you’re holding something heavy after a few minutes of holding the phone. This isn’t too good especially if you’re the type that receives long calls; talk about the people that stay on voice calls like they’re customer care agents.

That aside, the phone’s 5 inches screen enables you to watch those movies you crave in 480p resolution. There’s also the presence of 16:9 aspect ratio. I’m sure you weren’t anticipating 18:9.

Moving on, the cameras are multiple times better than the A14’s shooters. In charge of photography duties at the back is a 5MP camera with LED flash. The camera is also capable of recording videos at a 480p resolution similar to the phone’s display resolution. For selfies, a lacklustre 2MP camera is at bay.

In the software zone, Android Oreo Go edition coordinates significant operations. Its presence aids the functionality of the 512MB RAM. The RAM is coupled with the phone’s MediaTek MT6580 chipset at the core. Notwithstanding, the chipset possesses four cores that run at 1.3GHz speed.

The powerhouse of the smartphone is the removable 2,050mAh battery. The fact that it’s removable also makes it easily replaceable. No fingerprint sensor is available, so security measures such as PINs, passwords and patterns can be utilised to safeguard the smartphone.
