Chinese smartphone OEM, Meizu has launched the mid-range Meizu Note 8. Earlier this month, the smartphone manufacturer released the in-display flagship smartphone called the Meizu X8, which had been announced since September.

Meizu Note 8 features interesting specifications such as the dual rear cameras supported with AI, 14nm Snapdragon SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and a host of others.

Let’s go into its review straight up!

Meizu Note 8 Quick Review

The ideology behind most devices with “Note” in their naming system signifies a large screen and possibly a stylus pen. While the former is true about the device, the latter is so not one of its properties. In essence, Meizu Note 8’s display is defined by a massive 6-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with 18:9 aspect ratio. An 80.5% screen-to-body ratio together with 1080p resolution allows a crisp-esque multimedia output.

Under the IPS glass, Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 sits as the commander of the hardware region. Its performance is enhanced by the addition of the 4GB RAM. On this chip, an octa-core CPU with a 14nm process is found. All eight cores run at a maximum speed of 1.8GHz. Added to this, Adreno 506 takes care of the graphics delivery.

Android 8.0 Oreo OS works as the software of the smartphone rather than the latest Android 9.0 Pie but that’s par for the course for an OEM of this calibre. The Oreo OS is the basis for which the company implemented the Flyme OS on the device.

Actually, dual cameras of 12MP and 5MP take photographs at the fore while a single 8MP shooter captures selfies. The storing of these images and other files is handled by a 64GB internal storage which lacks the luxury of expansion through a MicroSD card slot.
