OnePlus entered the tablet market with the launch of the OnePlus Pad in April 2023. Although it had some flaws, the tablet was an impressive initial attempt in a field largely controlled by Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s premium Galaxy tablets. Now, a year later, the company has introduced the OnePlus Pad 2, enhancing its predecessor with significant improvements for a superior user experience.
The OnePlus Pad 2 is priced at $550 in the US and will be available starting July 30 on the OnePlus website, with preorders now available. During the preorder period, you can purchase a bundle that includes the OnePlus Pad 2 and all accessories at a significantly discounted price.

The OnePlus Pad 2 keeps the same 7:5 aspect ratio as the original Pad but now features a larger 12.1-inch display, up from 11.6 inches. This 3K screen boasts a peak brightness of 900 nits and supports Dolby Vision. It also dynamically adjusts its refresh rate between 30, 48, 50, 60, 90, 120, and 144Hz, depending on the content, to ensure a smoother viewing experience.
The original OnePlus Pad featured a quad-speaker setup, but the Pad 2 enhances this with a six-speaker configuration that supports spatial audio. The rear camera is positioned similarly to its predecessor, featuring a 13MP sensor. At the front, there’s an 8MP camera for selfies.
Despite its slim 6.49mm profile, the tablet houses a robust 9510mAh battery within its metal body, supporting 67W fast charging. OnePlus claims that a 10-minute charge can boost the battery by 23%, while a 30-minute charge can reach 64%.
Powering the OnePlus Pad 2 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, making it the first premium Android tablet to launch globally with this processor. This same SoC drives the top Android phones, offering unmatched performance and efficiency. The OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to deliver similar results in this regard.
In terms of software, the OnePlus Pad 2 includes Open Canvas from the OnePlus Open, allowing you to run three apps in split-screen mode simultaneously. Open Canvas is a popular feature of the OnePlus Open and should be enjoyable to use on the larger tablet screen.
The tablet also includes several AI features, such as AI Eraser 2.0, which is OnePlus’ version of Google’s Magic Eraser, and Smart Cutout 2.0, which isolates subjects in a photo to create memes, stickers, and more.
The OnePlus Pad 2 further offers several features designed for seamless integration, such as instant hotspot, Notification Sync, Clipboard Sync, Remote File Access, and the ability to take phone calls directly on the tablet. Additionally, OnePlus introduced two accessories for the Pad 2: the OnePlus Stylo 2 and the OnePlus Smart Keyboard.
The Stylo 2 boasts 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and zero delay tracking. The Smart Keyboard accessory includes a trackpad that’s more than twice the size of the original model. It attaches to the tablet magnetically and allows for adjusting the viewing angle between 110 and 165 degrees.
The Stylo 2 accessory is priced at $100, and the Smart Keyboard will sell for $150. Starting in August, all these devices will also be available on Amazon.
