Sharp Aquos Zero becomes the first Sharp smartphone with OLED display following Sharp’s announcement recently. In fact, the OLED display was manufactured in-house by Sharp itself.

This premium device is also the first from the brand to sport the latest Android OS – Android 9.0 Pie OS. This OS brings on features such as Adaptive battery & brightness, improved security features, a new screenshot shortcut and a host of others to the device.

Sharp Aquos Zero Quick Review

Finely made of a metallic and fibre body material, this device weighs a lowly 146g. The phone’s thickness of 8.8mm also describes its sleekness. More so, the notch design of this device makes it join the long list of trendy smartphones with the design. A chin appears below while the fingerprint scanner is located at the rear.

In the display section, a 6.2-inch touchscreen with Sharp’s in-house OLED panel serves as the output of multimedia. This 2.5D curved screen’s sharpness is handled by WQHD+ resolution of 1440 x 2992 pixels and 536PPI pixel density. There’s also support for DCI-P3 colour space as well as Dolby Vision.

At the power sector, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC commands the activities on this device. Being a flagship device, the chipset used is expected but the Android 9.0 Pie makes it even more classy. The 10nm chipset also holds an octa-core 2.8GHz CPU and Adreno 630 GPU for the delivery of graphics.

A 6GB LPDDR4X RAM sees to the smooth multitasking and seamless running of apps on the device. Also in the memory department, a 128GB UFS storage is present. This takes care of storage of apps, images, music, videos and documents. No MicroSD card is available on this smartphone. Due to the large space on this device, there’ll hardly be any need for an additional memory.
