That’s unsurprising, I know. TECNO Pop 2 Pro is one of the latest additions to the company’s lineup of smartphones.
The TECNO Pop series is a TECNO entry-level lineup that the company is building with a whole lot of concentration. Before this Pop 2 Pro, there have been TECNO Pop 2 and TECNO Pop 2 Power, the latter being battery-focused. And even before these smartphones, there was TECNO Pop 1 which was released last year also.

Yes, there are loads of similarities between TECNO Pop 2 and the Pro version. But you have to understand that TECNO made this Pro version for those who expected more from the Pop 2 smartphone.
For one, the Pop series was built on the backbone of Android Go Edition since that’s the basic OS version designed for low-end smartphones that run on Android. The Android Go Edition project kicked off in 2018, and it has been in full gear ever since. So, this device continues the landmark of Android Oreo Go Edition set by other smartphones in the lineup.
MediaTek MT6580 SoC, the most reliable chipsets for smartphones of this genre is found at the heart of this phone. The MediaTek MT6580 is a chipset with Quad-core 1.3GHz CPU that doesn’t get old. It sure has its perks, but it’s one assigned to those who don’t demand too much from a smartphone.
The display arena bags 5.5-inch screen with 480 x 960 resolution and Full View Display (18:9 aspect ratio). Its camera department is something that sets it out of the pack; 8MP camera at the front and 8MP at the rear. That said, 3,050mAh battery handles how far the phone can run while 1GB RAM and 16GB storage are highlights of the memory unit.
