Piracy is an act that is wrong and can lead to being in jail. This is what is now experienced by hundreds of people in Italy who have used streaming services illegally.

Quoted from the Daily Star, the police in Italy has arrested 240 people who are confirmed to be subscribing to streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, to Sky and pirated IPTV at a lower price than the original price.

In general, the price of a Netflix subscription in Italy is around £9.99 per month, by subscribing illegally, the price can be offered as cheaper as £8.50.

As a result, around 240 people who were arrested in Piacenza, Italy are threatened with imprisonment for a maximum of up to 8 years or paying a fine of £22,000 (approx. ₦12.5 million).

Indeed, the Italian police are now focusing on preventing piracy for TV, video games, and movies. Last year they also arrested 223 people who did the same thing.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria, there are currently many people who use pirated IPTV and modded APKs to access services such as Spotify to Netflix at a price much cheaper than the original price. What are your thoughts about this, kindly share in the comment box below?
