Just in case you felt there’s nothing more to talk about from the IFA 2018 trade show, I’m here to burst your bubbles. The HTC U12 Life was announced by the Asian OEM at the Berlin event pretty recently.
Interestingly, it is the stripped-down edition of HTC’s 2018 flagship – HTC U12 Plus, the squeezable smartphone. While there some noticeable differences between the two devices, there are also some interesting similarities. For example, both devices use 6 inches touchscreens for their displays although the quality of both displays is different.

HTC U12 Life Quick Review
The HTC U12 Life looks very much different from the U12 Plus in terms of design. Observing the rear of this device, you’ll find out there are dual finishes present, a smooth and a patterned finished although majority going the patterned’s way. The dual cameras are present on the top left corner in an iPhone X-like manner where the LED flash separates the two cameras. Of course, a fingerprint sensor is mounted at the rear for security purposes.
Images, videos and the likes are relayed on the Full View 6 inches touchscreen, that’s to say it comes with the 18:9 aspect ratio. Its resolution and pixel density are 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402PPI. Meanwhile, Android Oreo OS governs the software region with help from the HTC Sense. As a result, a companion app which functions similarly to Google assistant is aboard to remind the user when to charge the smartphone when low as well as other functions.
Bokeh images can be taken pretty well on this camera thanks to the 5MP camera backing up its 16MP camera at the back. In fact, videos can be recorded at the rate of 2160p@30fps as well as 1080p@30fps with these cameras. Up front, a 13MP shooter with LED flash support sees to the effective capture of frontal images. This is unlike the dual 8MP cameras present on the older sibling.
