Turn On the Lights on Xiaomi’s New Gaming Smartphone – Xiaomi Black Shark Helo

Xiaomi Black Shark Helo is Xiaomi’s upgrade to its first gaming smartphone (Xiaomi Black Shark). This season of gaming smartphones has presented us with gaming phones like Razer Phone 2, ASUS ROG and Huawei Mate 20 X.

Last month, Xiaomi Black Shark Helo appeared on TENAA, and a good number of the smartphone’s rumoured features came through.

Without further ado, let’s see what the gaming device has in store.

Xiaomi Black Shark Helo Quick Review

What makes a gaming smartphone really competent is the powerful hardware. These internal features ensure that the smartphone’s graphics and the entire gaming experience incredible. Inside this smartphone, there’s the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with octa-core 2.8GHz CPU and Adreno 630 GPU.

But there’s more to the phone’s internals; there’s a dedicated Pixelworks-manufactured chip is available to convert SDR content on the device to HDR. As a matter of fact, the phone’s screen is HDR10 compliant. Still, on the SoC, there’s a vapour cooling chamber that prevents the smartphone from overheating during intensive gaming actions.

This smartphone possesses a Gamer Studio App that helps to create various gaming profiles. How it works is that it can condition the processor, display, network and all to suit different games.

Let’s now look at its appearance. Appearance is another feature that makes gaming devices adorable. This smartphone’s outlook alone tells you it is designed for gaming. Similar to its predecessor, it has RGB lit surroundings and Shark logo represented by “S”.

AMOLED panel is what provides the display on the smartphone. This panel, sized at 6.01 inches, sports 1080 x 2160 pixels and 18:9 Full View Display mode. No notch makes it out with this device.

Although a notch didn’t come out of the box, the phone is equipped with analogue controllers. The number of the controllers you get is determined by the RAM variant of the phone you purchase. For clarity sake, the smartphone has three RAM versions: 6GB, 8GB and 10GB RAM.

The 10GB RAM version gets you two controllers that can be attached to each side (check out the way it looks in the Photos section below). Meanwhile, both the 6GB and 8GB iterations have just one analogue stick attachment.
