Based on the latest report from XDA-Developers, the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone will bring the ability to record 8K video (7680 x 4320 pixels) at 30fps. This information is found in the MIUI 11 camera APK.
Until now, there is no Xiaomi smartphone that can record video in 8K capabilities. In fact, Mi Mix Alpha, which has just been launched armed with a 108MP resolution camera is only capable of recording 6K video at 30fps.
For now, only the Samsung Exynos 9820 and Exynos 9825 chipsets support 8K video recording at 30fps, so it seems that the Xiaomi smartphone will come with the next-generation premium Snapdragon SoC from Qualcomm.
The only smartphone on the market that can record 8K video is Nubia Red Magic 3, but only at 15fps.
Xiaomi is expected to continue its collaboration with Samsung for camera business, GSMArena reports.
