Xiaomi has confirmed that it will equip its flagship generation, the Mi 10, with the Snapdragon 865 chipset which has just been announced by Qualcomm.
Co-founder and President of Xiaomi, Lin Bin, said that Mi 10 will be officially introduced in the first quarter (Q1) 2020. However, he did not reveal when Mi 10 will be on the market.
There is a possibility that Xiaomi will show off the smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), held in Barcelona, Spain, in February 2020.
Because the focus of the development of the Snapdragon 865 chipset is the 5G network and artificial intelligence (AI), these two features may be present in the Xiaomi Mi 10.
Quoting Pocket-lint, Snapdragon 865’s computing capability in processing AI-related tasks is claimed to reach 15 trillion operations per second (TOPS).
There is also camera sensor support up to 200 megapixels, following decoding support that is capable of processing video with a frame rate of 960 FPS.
In addition to confirming the presence of the Mi 10, Lin Bin also ensured that Xiaomi would launch at least 10 smartphones that were ready to support 5G connectivity.
