Tendigi a mobile design and development studio located in Brooklyn, NY have designed an Android case for iPhone that practically transforms it to an Android Phone. This achievement is awesome and considering the fact that Android stands as the leading OS in the world, it will sure come in handy for every iPhone lovers around the globe.
How Lee made Android Run On iPhone
Nick Lee (Partner & CTO at Tendigi) built the case version from a Lemaker HiKey development board. This device has a Kirin 620 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of on-board storage. It’s sufficient to run Android 6.0.1 without being too huge.
Lee designed and printed the case with a 3D printer creating holes for SD cards, other USB port and a compartment for the battery and panel to sit. This case was also designed to allow a Lightning cable snaking out the bottom. When plugged into an iPhone, he can launch a custom app that listens for the case. Upon connecting, the hardware in the case streams the full Android experience to the iPhone screen.
