With 2.9 billion monthly active users as of 2022, Facebook can be a spectacular platform for brands to promote their business to a wide pool of audiences. However, to leverage its marketing value better, marketers need to know what works on this social media site and what doesn’t.

Whether you’re getting free Facebook page likes through organic growth strategies or tools, you shouldn’t overlook the significance of targeting niche-specific audiences and engaging with them.

Nevertheless, if you’re on the hunt for the dos and don’ts of using Facebook for business, keep reading this article!

Do: Use a Recognizable Profile Picture

If you want Facebook users to immediately recognize your page, you should use your brand logo. Although this may seem like an obvious suggestion, most businesses leave their profile pictures blank or use random pictures.

Therefore, using a logo for your Facebook page and other social media accounts will strengthen your brand’s identity.

Don’t: Leave the “About” Section Blank

The “about” section of your Facebook page is shown right below your profile picture. It gives your potential customers a better understanding of your business and helps them make an informed buying decision.

Hence, you must not leave this section blank. You should utilize this section to tell about your brand story, what you deal in, your working hours, etc., to answer any questions people may have in their minds.

Do: Post During the Right Time

The right time to post on Facebook varies for everyone. What works best for another page may not work for you. Thus, you should keep a close eye on the analytics and assess what time your audience engages with your content the most.

Of course, you’ll have to go through some trials and errors before finally figuring out the most appropriate time to post to ensure your content reaches the maximum audience.

Don’t: Overpost

If you think posting more will help your page’s algorithm, you need to reconsider this. You certainly don’t want to annoy your followers with multiple daily posts. Moreover, having to focus on quantity may compromise quality, and you may get no engagement at all.

That’s why it’s better to post only once or twice a day. You should also assess if your audience interacts more when you post twice a day. If you don’t see positive results, it’s better to only stick to posting once a day.

Do: Pin Posts to Your Profile

As a business, you may have something important to promote at all times, such as a new product launch, an important upcoming event, or a newsletter sign-up. However, your crucial post may get flooded with your regular feed posts and substantially affect its visibility.

Therefore, you can use the pin feature for your business page simply by clicking on the three dots on the right side of the post. This will allow you to highlight the important post on your feed to which you want to drive the most traffic.

Don’t: Be Overly Promotional

You may have the natural urge to promote your business round the clock. This can make you sound too salesy and turn off your audience since you only seem to care about securing sales.

You should keep a fine balance between promoting your business and sharing fun or educational content. This will vastly facilitate you in growing your audience and keeping them engaged as well.
