The Android device does face minor issues a lot and while some are caused due to hardware malfunctioning or outdated software package, an error like no service found while the SIM card has been detected can be caused via hardware or software.

If you’re experiencing issues with your SIM card and you are seeing a message saying that it’s detected but no service is found on your Android device. In today’s article on NaijaKnowHow, you’ll learn to fix the ‘SIM card detected but no service found’ error.

How to Fix SIM Card Detected But No Service Found

The ‘SIM card detected but no service found’ error can be caused by different factors, some of the factors all have solutions and the solutions have been provided above, if you try any of the solutions that have been provided below, then it means the problem might not reoccur again.

Below are some of the possible solutions you should consider going for at first once you observe that your Android device can’t locate a network signal while a SIM card is being detected.

Method 1: Toggle Airplane Mode

Consider toggling Airplane Mode on your Android device once you observe you can’t pick a network signal. Airplane Mode is a very powerful protocol that’ll disconnect every network or wireless activity on your Android device. Once Airplane mode has been activated, you’ll be totally disconnected from the network and once you deactivate, you’ll be back on track.

  • You’ll see the Airplane Mode option, click on it and wait for it to activate fully.
  • Repeat the step again to deactivate Airplane Mode on your Android device, wait and see if your network would restore and if it doesn’t, try the next method.

Method 2: Restart Your Device

Sometimes restarting your Android device can resolve a lot of issues and not with the SIM card alone. Sometimes when apps keep crashing on Android, a restart could fix the problem at one time. If after toggling Airplane mode on your device and your network didn’t come up, you should try restarting your device, to do that, hold down the power button and click on Restart, it should fix the ‘SIM card detected but no service found’ error.

Method 3: Check the SIM Card

Before going deep into the conclusion that your device is faulty, a wrong placement of SIM card could affect it from detecting the network fully. You should check if your SIM card has been properly placed. If it’s not properly fitted on the slim slot, you should make sure it fits properly before you power on your device again.

Method 4: Check the network settings

Your device might have a SIM card detected on it and won’t display any network bar due to no selection of network mode as having been made. You need to specify that while you have a SIM card inserted into your Android device, it should detect the network.
