LG G7 ThinQ is LG’s 2018 flagship response to the questions asked by flagships released from other top brands. Although it seems a bit late for this LG flagship to enter the market, there’s that possibility it will mount a serious challenge. It starts with the Super Retina Display and an extremely large display screen.

LG G7 ThinQ takes on the top-notch trend in its bezel-less display design. It seems smartphone makers aren’t ready to let go of the notch trend popularized by Apple. The notch bears the front camera, earpiece and some sensors like light and proximity sensors. Around the rear, the dual camera, fingerprint scanner and the G7 ThinQ logo are arranged in a vertical format. There’s resonance chamber in the interior of the phone to enhance the bass effects of the stereo speakers.
As a plus, there’s DTX-3D Surround Sound to boost the headphones’ output. Aluminium alloy frame got fixed before the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back. At the front also, the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is in place to provide the needed protection. Selfies are taken by a solo 8MP front shooter while the rear has dual camera setup of 16 MP qualities that handles photography.
Juicing up the Super Retina Display of 19.5:9 aspect ratio on the elephantine 6.1 inches IPS display makes the smartphone super alluring. Even with this large display, the resolution is also astronomical as it pegs 1440 X 3120 pixels, and its pixel density also hits a high of 564PPI.
This smartphone can stay up to 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. Added to this, the device is dustproof thanks to IP68 certification. Android Oreo OS serves as the operating system of the system although it is interwoven with the LG UX user interface. Good news is that the smartphone has been scheduled to upgrade to the Android 9.0 P which will be released later this year.
Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon’s latest baby – Snapdragon 845 chipset is onboard to run as the heart of LG G7 ThinQ. The graphics unit is overseen by the Adreno 630 GPU. In the spirit of multitasking, there’s a variant of the smartphone with 4GB RAM and another with 6GB RAM. Interestingly, the memory compartment also has a variance which is both extra large – 64GB ROM or 128GB.
Considering the Hybrid SIM nature, one SIM has to be sacrificed to pave way for a memory card of 400GB maximum capacity. LG G7 ThinQ makes use of a non-removable Li-Po 3,000mAh that charges really fast as a result of Qualcomm Quick Charge technology present.
