Meizu C9: Dirt Cheap Smartphone With Decent Features

Like a toss of a stone into the ocean, Meizu launched the new Meizu C9 smartphone today. Although it was a quiet launch, it wasn’t soft enough to get unnoticed under our radar.

Cooked up by Meizu, the smartphone delivers cool features at a relatively low-cost price. Since that’s the objective of most Chinese manufacturers, this doesn’t seem like a surprise.

Now, let’s leave the intro and focus on what the phone truly has to offer.

Meizu C9 Quick Review

Meizu C9 isn’t a bezel-less smartphone but that doesn’t hinder its attractiveness. The Blue-coloured edition especially is one that’s extremely easy on the eye. It is wrapped up in plastic while its edges are well cut out for adequate grip. Despite its bezels, the phone showcases 73.6% screen-to-body ratio. This is impressive because some of the bezel-less smartphones are barely 5% above this ratio.

The smartphone entertains its user with 5.45-inch IGZO IPS screen in its display unit. This IPS screen conforms to a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels as well as 18:9 aspect ratio. Since the Full View Display and HD+ resolution is in the mix, it’s more than average standard.

The 8th version of the Android OS, that is, Android Oreo is what anchors the software arena. That’s not all, the Flyme UI also jumps in to grant a better feel. In the engine room, Unisoc SC9832E SoC with Quad-core 1.3GHz is well positioned. It gets its graphics support from the Mali-820 MP1 GPU.

As for the memory compartment, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage are the chief figures. The internal storage can be increased to 128GB using a MicroSD card. All the network standards are on the house – 2G, 3G and 4G LTE, so you can’t go short on swift internet access.

An 8MP camera handles frontal photography duties with f/2.2 aperture while a 13MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture captures rear images and videos. A reliable 3,000mAh battery provides the essential power to make the phone last longer.
