Every iPhone has an application called Find My where the application can be used to find the location in case the user’s iPhone is lost or stolen.
But it turns out that the Find My application on the iPhone has also been used by an assassin in Florida to chase and kill his target.
Quoted from Ubergizmo, it is known that there is a murder case in Florida, United States where initially the killer saw the victim who had just come out of a luxury shop to buy goods.
The killer immediately attached the iPhone device with the active Find My feature to the bottom of the victim’s car. Needless to say, this makes the location of the victim easily traceable by the perpetrator of the murder.
As a result, when the victim arrived home, the killer broke into the victim’s house and immediately shot him to death. It is known that the victim’s Lexus car was stolen.
Luckily, the perpetrator of the murder has been arrested and is currently facing punishment for the burglary with a firearm, murder with a firearm, and also a carjacking.
This case certainly proves that actually things that were created to help many people can also be abused by other people to commit crimes.
