At the Google I/O event that was held recently, Google has announced that the Wear OS operating system for its smartwatch will get a significant update.
The question now is what devices will support the latest version of Wear OS.
Well, just now XDA-Developers has reported that it has received confirmation from Qualcomm regarding the presence of Wear OS on smartwatches that use the Snapdragon chipset.
It is stated that the next smartwatches that will come with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and also Snapdragon Wear 4100/4100+ will support the Wear OS 3.0 operating system.
“We’re working closely with support to bring Wear OS 3.0 to the Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100+. The Snapdragon Wear 3100, 4100+, and 4100 will support Wear OS 3.0, but we’re not discussing anything more specific at this time,” a spokesperson said from Qualcomm.
But when it comes to the presence of this latest Wear OS for some smartwatch devices, it still depends on the OEM of each device.
Hopefully, OEM smartwatches that use Wear OS can rush to bring the update from Wear OS 3.0 to their devices so that users can immediately try new things that are presented in the operating system.
