Meet TECNO Camon X with Android 8.1 & Face ID (Full Specs and Price)

TECNO Camon X is the newly released TECNO device. It was launched alongside it’s PRO version which is Camon X Pro today at the Eko hotels in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Camon X comes with a 6 inches display measured at 158.6 x 75.8 x 7.8mm which makes it slim and lightweight.

TECNO Mobile declared that the new device sports the recent Android Oreo 8.1 which makes this model first TECNO device to come with Android 8. Moving inside the TECNO Camon X, you will find the new TECNO Mobile user interface — HiOS 3.3 with a lot of distinct features like a facial recognition system, called Face ID, eye care, one hand mode, floating window (multi-window tab) and more. Nothing different from the Pro version.

Both have 16MP rear cameras. But one BIG difference is that the Camon X has 20MP front camera while Camon X Pro has 24MP front camera.

When it comes to performance and storage, it is equipped with a MediaTek processor. The processor used is the MediaTek MT6763 Helio P23 which is designed for low-end Android devices. The processing speed is clocked at 2.0Ghz and it runs on Octa-core processor.

Unlike the Camon CM which was released in January this year and was equipped with just 2GB of RAM, I wasn’t impressed by this device (See full review here), the TECNO Camon X is packed with a 16GB ROM and a 3GB RAM whereas its PRO version comes with the 64GB ROM and 4GB RAM (the major difference between both variants) .

The Camon X comes with a moderate 3750mAh battery capacity good enough to take you the whole day. A proper review would be done when NAIJAKNOWHOW gets a hold of the device.
