Vivo NEX Dual Display: Flagship Phone With Two AMOLED screens and 10GB RAM

*Wipes sweat* The innovation in the smartphone world keeps getting the adrenaline pumping, the heart racing & the nerve impulses making rounds across one’s body. The latest news headline in the smartphone world is the announcement of flagship-level Vivo NEX Dual Display.

Without prior knowledge, the phone’s appellation gives it off as a device with two displays. Interestingly, the displays are both AMOLED panels with vibrant resolutions. But that’s not the peak of the phone’s goodness, more superb features are loaded in it.

Vivo NEX Dual Display Quick Review

Last month, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, ZTE announced a device with dual screens and dual fingerprint sensors, the ZTE Nubia X. This Vivo NEX Dual Display comes as a direct competitive response to that device.

Its main display is a 6.39-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that works with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 403PPI pixel density. It packs 19.5:9 aspect ratio & 91.63% screen-to-body ratio that makes it almost without bezels. A small chin at the base is what hinders this bezel-less perfection.

Around the back, three cameras are at the top of the 5.49-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It uses a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. Beneath it, the NEX logo appears in a chin.

Back to the cameras, the qualities are Main (12MP lens with OIS), Depth sensor (2MP with f/1.8 aperture) and ToF camera (Time-of-flight). The ToF camera helps to measure the distance between the image & the camera, face recognition & 3D image application.

Mind you, there’s no front-facing camera as the rear cameras serve the purpose of selfie captures and rear photography. Since there’s a display at the rear, you can check out how the image looks when taking a selfie. A LED flash is also available on the cam setup’s left-hand side.

As for the powerhouse, Vivo NEX Dual Display relies on the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. A 10GB RAM adds to the phone’s fluency in operations. Multiple forms of files can be saved on the 128GB ROM that lacks expansive capacity. A fast-charging 3,500mAh battery grants the phone its long term duration.

Added to the Face ID mentioned above, the device sports an under-display fingerprint scanner for touch ID protection. Android 9.0 Pie & Funtouch 4.5 OS sees to the dissemination of software functions on the device.
