WhatsApp has new settings for group features. This makes it impossible for people to just put you in a group without your permission.
This new feature was aimed at increasing Facebook’s commitment to combating misinformation and giving users the authority to make privacy arrangements.
This new feature is very important because we don’t want to be invited to certain groups where we do not know the person. In the new invitation system, users can determine who can join the conversation group on WhatsApp.
To activate it, the steps are as follows:
- Open Settings
- Select Account
- Select Privacy
- Select Group
- Then choose the three available options, i.e “Everyone”, “My Contacts,” or “My Contacts Except.”
When selecting “My Contacts” means only users registered in your contact list can add to the group. While “My Contacts Except” offers additional settings to sort anyone in the contact list who can add you.
Administrators who cannot add you to a group will be asked to send private invitations via individual chat, which gives a choice whether they are interested in joining the group.
With these new features, users have more control over the group messages they receive. This latest privacy setting has been launched to several users and is now available to users of the latest version of WhatsApp worldwide.
In addition to the latest privacy settings, WhatsApp will launch an invitation to encourage users to stay safe on WhatsApp. In the next few weeks, WhatsApp will invite everyone to share their joy, not gossip.
