The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced its first ever hackathon challenge tagged Kingdom Hack with 1 Million naira up for grabs.
The Young Adults and Youth Affairs (YAYA) department of the largest church in Nigeria, RCCG have put a hackathon competition that will task several web programmers, data analysts, software developers, graphics designers, creative minds, et al.
This competition aims to seek out technological solutions that will affect not only the technological ecosystem of the nation but also the entrepreneurial and innovative space.
Participants will form groups in order to write codes and proffer solutions to the culture of the world while tackling the matter from a Christain perspective.
A statement from the Kingdom Hack read: “This hackathon aims to ignite the Christian purpose of technologists and entrepreneurs to innovate culture shaping technologies that would reclaim our times for the Gospel. An ongoing ecosystem where global issues are tackled from a Christian perspective.”
All the individuals will bring up their various skill sets and challenge for the grand prize of 1 million naira cash prize. While the winner takes home the 7-digit figure, the first and second runners-up are not left out. The first runner-up will walk away with N500,000 while the second runner-up will leave with N250,000.
This competition will last for 72 hours between November 1 – November 3. The theme of the 3-day tech event is “Income /Wealth Redistribution and Poverty Eradication.”
