Samsung Galaxy J2 Core unveiled as the First Samsung Android Go Phone

It feels like the unexpected has happened; Samsung launches its first Android Go phone in called the Samsung J2 Core. Most smartphone OEMs have taken turns to manufacturing smartphones with this economical Android OS, we would have almost guessed Samsung wouldn’t go in that direction.

However, in recent weeks, we’ve seen leaks of this Samsung Android Go phone which made the surprise toned down. Well, the phone is here for good, and it has most of its features are budget.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Quick Review!

The body build of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is simply basic. Its back is finely furnished while its fore is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass of unspecified edition. As it stands, protection is served with this Gorilla Glass on top of the phone. Meanwhile, the phone weighs 154g and has a sleek thickness of 8.9mm.

Behind the phone’s screen, there’s the Samsung Exynos 7570 chipset with Quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. Graphics output on the device is handled by Mali-T720 GPU. And, the phone runs on the Android Oreo Go Edition out of box. This OS’s ultra-saving data mode allows a low consumption of data.

Meanwhile, a 1GB RAM sees to the efficient multitasking of the phone’s apps. A considerable amount of files can be stored on the 8GB internal storage which can be extended to 256GB with the use of a MicroSD card.

Decent images are captured by a rear 8MP camera as well as a front 5MP shooter. The rear camera records videos at a smooth resolution of 1080p@30fps, and it also has the bliss of a LED flash. Finally, it is powered by a removable and replaceable 2,600mAh Li-Ion battery.
