How to Save GIFs on Android Devices Easily (2023)

In this article on Naijaknowhow, I’ll be writing about how to save GIFs on Android devices easily. In today’s world, people use phones to communicate with each other. Instead of just using words and symbols, they can now use stickers, pictures, and GIFs.

To begin, users can find basic GIFs on their Android phones. However, they often want to discover cooler and funnier ones, so they search for and save new GIFs. So the natural question is how can one save GIFs on Android devices?

Once the GIFs are saved on their phones, they can easily share them in chats with friends and family. In addition, these saved GIFs can be used as wallpapers to personalize their Android devices. There are various ways to save GIFs on Android devices. This article will explain those methods adequately.

How to Save GIFs on Android Devices

Using a Web Browser

A web browser, like Chrome, is a useful tool for searching for various things, including GIFs and other items. With a web browser, you can download content from different websites. The most well-known website for searching is Google.

Step 1

Type in the theme GIF or detail that you want. And make sure to mention the word “GIF” in your response. Otherwise, you might receive regular pictures or images.

When you use Google to search, you can select different categories. Choose the “Images” section to find GIFs quickly and easily. It’s the simplest and fastest way to find GIFs.

Save GIFs on Android

Step 3

After finding the GIFs that you are looking for, enter the image you like.

Step 4

After entering the image you like, wait for it to start moving or begin animation, or else you may find yourself downloading a JPEG file. Then click and hold on the moving image for some seconds.

Step 5

A window containing some menus or options will appear. Select “Save Image” or “Download Image,” depending on the web browser you’re using. To access the GIF image you’ve downloaded, go to your phone gallery or the Download Folder.

There are other websites besides Google where you can find various GIFs. Some examples are Pinterest, Tumblr, and giphy.com. These websites may have GIFs that you may not find quickly on Google, so it’s worth giving them a try.

To save GIFs from these websites, you can follow similar steps as you would when saving from Google.

Step 1

Search for the kind of GIF you want and enter any of the GIF websites shown on the search page.

Once you’re in the website, wait for the images to start moving before you select. Then click and hold to select “Download/ Save.”

Using a Third-Party App

To save GIFs on Android using a third-party app, you can download one from the Google Play Store. Many people prefer free apps, and Giphy App is a popular choice. It offers a vast collection of free GIFs from the internet, and users can even create and upload their own.

The process of saving and downloading GIFs in the app is straightforward: install the app, open it, and use the search bar at the top of the screen to find and save the desired GIFs.

Step 1

Type in the theme or category you’re looking for. It’ll show you a selection of GIFs to choose from.

Transferring from PC to Android Device

To save GIFs on Android from your computer, follow these steps:

  • Prepare the GIF files on your computer.
  • Connect your phone and computer using a USB cable (you can use your charging cable).
  • Copy or move the GIF files from your computer to your phone.

Once the files are transferred, disconnect your phone from the computer. Now the GIFs are ready to be used on your phone.
