Some time ago a report appeared that said that Samsung Display would supply an Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) screen to Google for use in its foldable smartphone.
Now there is new information that says that in the future Samsung Display will also supply this flexible OLED screen not only for Google but also for Vivo and Xiaomi. It is stated that mass production of the flexible screen will also begin in October 2021.
Reportedly, Samsung Display will produce a flexible screen with a size of 7.6 inches that will be used by Google in its Pixel folding smartphone.
Then Vivo will use a larger screen that is 8 inches in size and has an aspect ratio of 10.2: 9. However, there is no information regarding the screen that will be sent to Xiaomi.
Previously there was also information that said OPPO would also use a flexible screen made by Samsung. However, it is known that this smartphone will be released in 2022 so Samsung does not need to rush to produce the screen.
Samsung is currently arguably the most famous flexible screen manufacturer for now. Where now a competitor from Samsung Display is BOE, which makes flexible screens for the Huawei Mate X and Mate X2 folding smartphones.
