In the same event where Apple unveiled the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11, Pro Max, the Cupertino-based company has officially announced the release date of the new iOS 13 as well as devices that will be supported.

The new Apple OS will be coming in two versions for smartphones and iPads, hence, we’ll have iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 respectively. While the former is for iPhones and iPod Touch, the latter is strictly for iPads. The release date for the software update is September 19.

COOL FACT: iOS 13.1 will be released September 30th. It will contain fixes to likely bugs in the September 19 update.

Like Android 10, iOS 13 will come with the much anticipated system-wide Dark Mode that’ll give you a better view in the night and protect your eyes better.

In addition, apps like Photos, Maps, Reminders have gotten a new lease of life. Memojis can also be converted to stickers when the updates get released.

“iOS 13 brings new capabilities to the apps you use every day, with rich updates to Photos and Maps, and privacy-protecting features like Sign In with Apple, all while delivering faster performance. We’re excited for customers to experience what’s coming to iPhone this fall and can’t wait for them to see how great everything looks in Dark Mode.” – Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.
