YouTube Stories is Rolling Out to Users

YouTube has been testing for a while with a Snapchat-like Stories feature in his app. This new function for the video platform is now being rolled out more widely.

YouTube Stories

We saw the Stories clone in YouTube in 2017 for the first time but under the name Reels. A number of YouTubers with access to this feature could add videos to it, just as is possible with the counterparts in Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and Skype. YouTube wanted Reels to ensure that content creators would create more interaction with their subscribers by making short films that are then viewed by interested parties.

Stories for creators

In August of 2018, the name Reels turned out to have been traded in for the well-known term ‘Stories’. The films stay a week in the Stories, not 24 hours like Instagram. In addition, the Stories can only be seen in the YouTube app. Creators with more than 10,000 subscribers in the app can choose to add a video via the ‘Create’ button, and then choose ‘Stories’.

Both subscribers and non-subscribers can then view these Stories. Fans can respond to a Story and the creator can respond to it. Everyone who views the Story sees this conversation. This way the creator can indeed create more interaction with his fans and also promote his YouTube channel. You can find more information about creating YouTube Stories here.

YouTube Stories

Whether you like it or not, the Stories are currently being rolled out by YouTube. The editorial staff can see the position with two editors, the rest does not have the option yet. Do you already see the Stories on YouTube?
