How to borrow credit from Airtel, 9Mobile, Glo & MTN

1. How to borrow credit from Airtel

Airtel Extra Credit service allows you to borrow Airtel from Airtel, you must have met the conditions below to be eligible;

  • You must be a prepaid customer.
  • Sim must be at least three months old
  • Actively recharging and using your line.

Borrowable amount

The amount that can be borrowed from Airtel is N25, N50, N100, N200, N500.

To borrow credit on Airtel

  • Dial *500*amount#, e.g *500*50# to borrow N50 or dial *500# and follow the prompts.

Airtel service charge

You will pay 15% of the borrowed amount as a service charge. E.g, if you borrow N100, you will receive N85 or if N50, you will receive N42.50.

2. How to borrow credit from 9Mobile

9Mobile Easy Credit service allows your to borrow airtime for calls, data and other services on 9Mobile.

How to check Easy Credit eligibility on 9Mobile

Here’s is how to check if you’re eligible to borrow credit on 9Mobile.

  • Dial *665*3# or text STATUS to 665

Borrowable amount

Amount that can be borrowed on 9Mobile are N50, N100, N200, N500 & N1000

To borrow airtime credit on 9Mobile

  • Dial *665*amount#, e.g *665*50# to borrow N50 or text amount to 665, e.g Text 50 to 665 to borrow N50.

9Mobile service charge

You will pay 15% of the borrowed amount as a service charge. E.g, if you borrow N100, you will receive N85 or if N50, you will receive N42.50.

3. How to borrow credit from Glo

Glo Borrow Me Credit service allows you to borrow or loan airtime from Glo and pay back later. To use this service, you must have passed the criteria below;

  • You must be a prepaid user.
  • Sim must be at least four months old.
  • You have an active usage history (must be recharging regularly & more)

Borrowable amount

Amount that can be borrowed on Glo are N50, N100, N200, N500 & N1000

To borrow credit on Glo

  • First, dial *321#, you shall be prompted to create a 4 digit PIN. After creating PIN, you can go ahead to borrow credit…
  • Dial *321*PIN*amount#, e.g dial *321*1234*50# to borrow N50.

GLO service charge

You will pay 10% of the borrowed amount as a service charge. E.g, if you borrow N100, you will receive N90 or if N50, you will receive N45.

4. How to borrow credit from MTN

MTN XtraTime allows you to borrow airtime from MTN and pay back later, but before you request to borrow credit from MTN, bear this in mind; MTN XtraTime is only available to active prepaid MTN customers. Also, put into consideration, other eligibility criteria below;

  • SIM must be prepaid
  • SIM must be registered
  • Customer’s main account balance must be between N0 and N12
  • MTN’s consideration of Customer’s monthly recharge frequency
  • MTN’s consideration of Customer’s average monthly spend
  • Customer must have paid up any previous XtraTime request and the charges associated thereto.

How to check XtraTime eligibility on MTN

Here’s is how to check if you’re eligible to borrow credit on MTN.

  • Dial*606# » select 1 to check eligibility

Borrowable amount

Amount that can be borrowed on MTN are N50, N100, N200, N500 & N1000

To borrow credit on MTN

  • Dial *606# » select Request Airtime » Select amount to borrow.

MTN service charge

You will pay 15% of the borrowed amount as a service charge. E.g, if you borrow N100, you will receive N85 or if N50, you will receive N42.50.

NOTE: Credit borrowed will be repaid back through recharge card, ME2U, bank mobile recharge or other methods of funding that recharges your main credit account.
