How to check Bank Verification Number (BVN)

Check BVN number with your mobile phone on MTN, Airtel, GLO or 9Mobile (Etisalat) network by;

  • Dialling the code *565*0# and NIBSS returns the BVN associated with your mobile phone number.

NB: Make sure the number used in dialing the code is associated to your bank account.

Now that you now know how to check BVN number on your phone, next is to know how to link BVN with your existing bank accounts in Nigeria (other banks you own).

How To Enroll For BVN – All Banks

To those that are just new to BVN in Nigeria, here are 5 quick steps of how to register for BVN in Nigeria if you can’t quickly get access to a mobile device, follow tips below;

  1. Enter any bank branch of your choice.
  2. Request, fill and submit their BVN enrolment form.
  3. Present yourself for data capturing (such as Fingerprint, facial Image etc)
  4. An acknowledgement slip with the transaction ID would be issued to you right away.
  5. In less than 24 hours, you should get a message showing you your new BVN. Now, you can now link BVN with all your bank accounts.

This code works on all bank you can think of in Nigeria either with or without an internet connection.

This process works if you choose to link BVN with any Nigerian bank (Access, Zenith, GTBankFidelity, First, Ecobank, Union, Unity, FCMB, Diamond, Heritage, UBA, Jaiz, Stanbic IBTC, Wema, Skye, Sterling, Enterprise and Keystone).
